Story
Hi there!
I'll be taking on the hills of Tasmania to raise funds for CINI Australia. I’d appreciate any contribution, big or small.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to CINI Australia.
Thanks so much for your support!
What CINIAustralia does
CINI works in some of the poorest parts of India where malnutrition in children and adolescents is far too common, many children dont complete primary school and often go into child labour to help their families. Young girls are at real risk of being trafficked.
CINI Australia helps to break this cycle of poverty by empowering women to change their own lives and
provide their children with the opportunities and protection that we all want for our children.
This ride is raising funds for
Child and Women Friendly Communities Program (CWFC)
Reaches 30,000 people living in 12 villages in Uttar Dinajpur where CINI provides
· Training of local women in health and nutrition
· The “1000 days” project for safe childbirth, antenatal care, immunization and health care from conception for the first 1000 days of life
· Early childhood development training for mothers
· Parent education about the importance of schooling
· Support to get ‘at risk’ children into school
· Adolescent programs on malnutrition, reproductive health, early marriage prevention and children’s rights
· Village child protection training to prevent trafficking
· Local councils, schools, services and villagers collaborate to build their skills and knowledge
IICCHAA: “Hope” for Children affected by HIV
IICCHAA reaches over 200 families with children or parents affected by HIV/AIDS. It targets the special needs of children whose families are severely disadvantaged. CINI’s outreach workers have faced the same difficulties as the families who they educate and support. IICCHAA provides families with:
· Accurate information about HIV and its prevention
· Training to develop family communication and coping skills
· Support with income generation and schooling
· Community education to diminish discrimination
· Help to access entitlements and secure their children’s future
What can my donations do?
· $15 provides educational materials for a month
· $60 provides nutrition supplements for a severely malnourished child
· $200 provides 100 adolescents’ education and training
· $480 provide a salary for an outreach worker
· $500 trains a village in child protection
· $1300 employs a community development worker
· $4000 provides a program manager’s salary
CINI Australia, Child In Need India
CINI Australia is working with Child In Need Institute, India to address the fundamental causes of poverty with some of the most disadvantaged people in India. Programs focus on health, nutrition, education and protection of disadvantaged women and children.
Local women are empowered to be the center of change in their communities.
Health and nutrition programs start in early pregnancy to prevent malnutrition in the mother and her growing baby. Antenatal care and safe childbirth give a baby the best start in life.
The next step for families to move out of poverty is education for their children. CINI supports preschool preparation, enrollment and retention in schooling.
CINI works in rural villages and inner city slums and reach children living on the streets, children of sex workers and children on the railways of Kolkata.
An Australia dollar can go a long way where many people live on less than $2 a day and over 40% of children do not have adequate nutrition. Your contribution can help make real and lasting change.
CINI Australia is a non aligned non religious organisation.
Thank you for your support.
