Paul's Hair Raising Ride
Story
Please support Paul's 7-day 786km Hair Raising Ride from Melbourne to Broulee (South Coast NSW) to raise funds for the Australian Alopecia Areata Foundation (AAAF).
Through his gruelling 9606m of climb from Boxing Day to New Years, Paul will be raising money for our little boy Ollie and other kids like him with this auto immune condition. By the end of the ride it is likely Ollie will have no hair left. Alopecia attacks the hair follicles in otherwise healthy people, leaving many with patchy hair or no hair at all. We are raising funds to promote awareness of Alopecia and are also developing a children's book to explain Ollie's baldness to other little people.
It is our hope that with greater understanding around Alopecia, Ollie will face a world surrounded by acceptance and friendship and will not face the harsh judgement that ignorance can contribute. Ollie's mental health and happiness is our ultimate dream. This children's book we're trying to create will hopefully be one step closer for Ollie and other little kids like him to a world where understanding and friendship prevail.

(AAAF), is established to be the national Australia body supporting research to find a cure or acceptable treatment for all forms of Alopecia Areata, support those with the disease and their families, and inform the public about all forms of Alopecia Areata.
Our Service philosophy is to give each person the best chance of managing their alopecia journey positively, the whole family and each individual needs to be supported to manage their unique experience. By reducing the financial and emotional stress and enabling children, young people, adults and their support networks to develop their strengths and skills, AAAF assists the whole family to achieve that positive journey.
