Story
Hi there
My names Luke
I’m an ultra endurance cyclist.
From March the 16th of 2024 I’ll be cycling from Perth to Sydney with the Indian Pacific Wheel ride.
Late last year I started to notice some muscle loss in my hands.
The doctors were really worried that I may have the starting signs of motor neurone disease. After multiple test and visits to physiotherapist, my GP and a two neurologist the signs pointed more towards an incorrect handlebar placement on a new bike. I will still need to keep an eye on my body for any signs of more muscle loss over then next few years and check in with my doctors occasionally.
This experience has brought to my attention motor neurone disease and the fact that there is no cure for the disease at the moment.
I’m hoping to raise money to support funding for research into a cure or support and treatment for people who are suffering through this disease.
