Story
Earlier this year I lost my father, Mark, to a 3-year battle with bowel cancer. Dad fought hard, remaining unbelievably strong and positive throughout.
For as long as I can remember, Dad was a fan of cycling. I have fond memories of sitting down each night at 6 p.m. and watching the highlights of the previous night's Tour de France together. These memories have inspired me to honour his legacy by completing the Peaks Challenge in 2021.
The Peaks Challenge is a 235-kilometre cycling race with 4000m+ vertical climbing across the Victorian High Country. Setting off from Falls Creek, I'll work my way through Mt. Hotham and Omeo and finish back at Falls Creek in (hopefully) under 13 hours.
I will be riding for Dad and to support Bowel Cancer Australia, a community-funded charity dedicated to prevention, early diagnosis, quality treatment and the best care for those affected by bowel cancer.
