Mike and Andy
Mike and Andy
Story
We are Mike and Andy, and we have volunteered in the foodbank, kitchen and other roles at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) for several years. A few weeks ago, we decided to do a bike ride, on 4 October 2025, that matches our age in kilometres - around 75 - to raise some funds for the ASRC to help in its brilliant work.
In mid-September, a fellow ASRC volunteer, Brian Derum, passed away after 15 years of wonderful, kind service to refugees. We have decided to dedicate our ride to our many great memories of Brian.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to the ASRC.
Thanks so much for your support!
ASRC Footscray (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre)
The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is both a place and a movement.
As an independent not for profit organisation, we are owned and run by our community. Our programs empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well-being. As a movement, we mobilise and unite communities to create lasting social and policy change for people seeking asylum in Australia.
We assist over 7,000 people seeking asylum each year from our centres in Footscray and Dandenong, Victoria.
