Wild hogs in lycra
Story
Riders : Gifford Croshwaite, Bernie Gillespie, Raymond Jarratt, Bruce Berg Von Lindhe and Wayde Foster.
Support Vehicle Drivers : Justin Spierani, Bob Beggs and ????????
At the start of February 2018 five mates and I will leave Perth and start our bicycle ride from the West Coast to the east coast of Australia. We hope to cover 5,500Km's in five weeks, finishing at Cobram / Barooga. Initially we were just doing the ride for a bucket list thing. After thinking about the ride I thought that if we are going to do this we should at least try and raise some money for a worthwhile cause.
There are so many worthwhile causes that would benefit from donations but I chose one close to my heart, Dementia / Alzheimers research. My dad has alzheimers and I have seen the effects on him and how it affect not only the patient but the whole family. One of the other riders also lost his mum who was also suffering from Alzheimers. It wasn't until I did some research into dementia / alzheimers that I realised it was the second biggest killers of Australians. I've set a naive target of 10K and hope everyone gets behind us and donates to this great cause while we do the leg work. All donations will go directly to Dementia / alzheimers research.
If you'd like to follow our progress we have a facebook page, also called 'wild hogs in lycra'.
Thanks for reading and please donate.
