SUE's OTAGO RAIL CHALLENGE

I have decided that I would like to make a difference to the young women at Miraa House by creating my very own fundraising appeal. Gofundraise makes this easy for you to support my efforts by making a secure donation.

I am going to ride 150km in 5 days, for many this is an easy feat, however for someone like me that does very little exercise this is a huge challenge!

The Otago rail trail is a trail in the southern part of New Zealand; in Otago. The trail is built on the old rail line originally laid down in the 19th century.

Our family has chosen to ride the 150km's in 5 days; taking in the scenery and the company of our family at a leisurely pace.

As a family we wanted a challenge that would allow us to share an experience together, in a safe outdoor environment; to do something that perhaps we had not done before; something that would take us out of our comfort zone; that would be memorable for years to come, enjoyable, inspiring....

In many ways, this is what Miraa house aims to achieve, by offering young women an opportunity to do things outside of their comfort zone; but in a safe environment; doing things that you and I take for granted in our day to day lives; skills that these young women need to learn in order to integrate into society and become more independent.

My challenge starts months before the ride and includes raising funds for Miraa house through this web site, through word of mouth and through advertising.
